Mitosis

We've doubled (Welcome Rithi!)

🚀 Month 4 by the Numbers

🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Investor Members: 9 (+1)

👩‍🎓 Student Analysts Acquired: 1

🤝 Newsletter Subscribers: 300 (+17)

🚨 Updates 🚨

First, I’ve stopped titling newsletters by # of weeks because I don’t send these often enough for that. Also, 300 newsletter subscribers!

Second, our next pitch session July 31st is going to be insane. We’ll be picking just 4 companies out of the dozens we’ve met this quarter to give their pitches.

Also, just look at this networking foyer for before our session. If this + a view from the 20th floor + complimentary coffee and soda doesn’t give you the uncontrollable urge to invest $100k into a startup, I’m not sure what would.

Shoutout to Michael Best & Friedrich LLP for letting us use the space! Y’all rock.

Third and most important, the Boulder Angels team has doubled. Call it mitosis 🦠

This 100% growth of our team gets us closer to our ultimate goal of omnipresence. Like I said at the New Venture Challenge this year, if you are a Buff and an angel investor or founder, we will find you. 🫵

All jokes aside, Rithi Prabhu is a fantastic addition to the Boulder Angels team and I am incredibly grateful to have her onboard and excited for the work we’ll get done together.

There’s a (small (ish)) risk of me writing a career ending joke every time I write this newsletter, so thankfully I can live to write another day and let Rithi introduce herself from here.

From Rithi:

Hi!

My name is Rithi Prabhu, and I am a proud Boulder native, and a rising junior at Leeds pursuing a finance degree with minors in space and computer science.

I absolutely love everything creative, I am a self proclaimed craft connoisseur - loving sewing, knitting, painting etc. and I also love baking, music, and reading anything and everything.

Because of that creative side, I have always loved innovation, and the idea that one new innovation can fundamentally change the world is why I am so passionate about startups.

Last year, I joined Kickstart’s 14 Founders fund and got to work with some of CU’s most inspiring founders. I gained a deep appreciation for the talent and drive within Boulder’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. I joined Boulder Angels to help strengthen and grow that ecosystem as I truly believe that our local network is one of the most valuable assets we have.

There’s incredible power in connecting founders with investors to build something greater together, and I’m extremely excited and grateful to be part of that effort. Looking forward to an amazing season of investing!
