Milestones & Gratitude

After my exploits with the kangaroos in Australia back in February, I came back with three goals for Boulder Angels:

1. Invest $1M annually into CU Boulder-affiliated and CO-based startups

2. Reach 100 active investor members

3. Host amazing pitch sessions and social events at least 6 times per year

I have to express my gratitude for the progress we’ve made since then. We have:

1. Invested $550,000 into amazing founders

2. Welcomed 11 proud Buff angels and counting to our group

3. Hosted four great pitch sessions + social events

Some other highlights include a fierce round of Buff Bingo and a popsicle stand. Congrats to Dave & Shiela for their winnings!

I’m also thrilled to announce that I have joined the operating committee of University Angel Groups, a network of alumni angel network leaders supporting one another in best practices and growth. Cheers to Jeff Chapski at the Georgetown Angel Investor Network (GAIN) for the opportunity.

I cannot express how grateful I am for all of our Boulder Angels members, and all of the community members who support our mission, to bolster the Buff alumni community and startup ecosystem.

I can’t wait to make more deals, expand the group, and host more awesome events.

Polygamy

If you haven’t already been informed of this by my recent (high quality) corporate propaganda posting on LinkedIn, I’ve entered a polygamous career relationship. I have started a position at a startup here in Denver on their GTM team.

I’ve learned so much already in helping the company scale to world domination, and am excited to continue the journey.

However, I also remain committed to Boulder Angels and the obligations I have to our membership and the local startup community.

As a wise man once said…

“You can only hope your two spouses to get along well with each other, and thankfully so far there have been zero domestic incidents. However, the day might come when your least favorite is out at pilates and you have to change the locks and run away with your favorite of the two.”
